Gentle Wake-Up & Cuddles

Mornings at The Dog Cottage unfold slowly, just as Cavaliers prefer. Your Cavalier awakens from a restful night on a king-sized bed dressed in 1,000 thread count sheets, greeted with unhurried cuddles and quiet affirmations to begin the day in a calm, loving way.

A beautifully prepared breakfast follows. Our guests dine on premium, human-grade cuisine by 5 Hounds by Dr Will, thoughtfully selected to exceed the nutritional needs of this special breed and support long-term health and vitality.

Morning Walks & Nature Adventures

After breakfast, your Cavalier enjoys a gentle morning outing. Many days include time in a private, fully fenced dog park, where guests may roam freely and safely. From there, we meander home through tranquil forest surrounds, pausing to take in serene water views and birdsong, a peaceful sensory experience that Cavaliers find deeply enriching.

Upon returning to the cottage, it’s time to unwind. Cavaliers settle onto our plush faux-fur-draped sofa for their daily grooming ritual. Coats are carefully brushed, knots delicately removed, and soothing massages given. Tick checks, eye and ear cleans are completed with care, all while soft, calming music plays in the background. Before long, our guests drift into a contented midday sleep.

Afternoon Enrichment & Sensory Play

Afternoons are devoted to gentle enrichment brain activities, thoughtfully tailored to stimulate the mind while maintaining a sense of calm. Your Cavalier participates in brain-enriching games designed to support cognitive wellbeing and emotional balance.

This is followed by a leisurely treat hunt within our purpose-built sensory garden. Here, Cavaliers indulge their natural foraging instincts, sniffing for hidden treats nestled among dog-safe herbs such as mint, rosemary, and basil. The experience is both mentally fulfilling and quietly joyful.

Evening Wind-Down

As evening approaches, your Cavalier is served an exquisite dinner, another nourishing creation courtesy of 5 Hounds by Dr Will, finished with crushed seaweed to support dental health. An “after-dinner mint” follows in the form of an Oravet Dental Chew, ensuring oral care is seamlessly woven into the nightly routine.

Turn-down service then begins. Shutters and blinds are drawn, the fireplace is lit, ambient lighting softens the space, and cosy blankets are artfully arranged across the sofa. Cavaliers settle into their preferred positions, and the evening concludes with unhurried cuddles and quiet companionship.

After a final outdoor break, everyone retires to the primary bedroom, where your Cavalier settles once more into the king-sized bed for a peaceful and restorative night’s sleep.
